HomeMy WebLinkAbout2583ORDINANCE NO. 2583 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles implementing a compensation study for Management, Administrative, Technical, and Confidential Clerical Personnel for the period January 1, 1990, to December 31, 1990, providing for the payment thereof, and repealing Section 1 of Ordinance 2577. WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles has a policy of periodically conducting and implementing compensation studies for each bargaining group of employees and for non -union employees, to ensure that its employees are being paid salaries and wages that are equal to the average of what other comparable Washington cities pay their employees; and WHEREAS, the current compensation study for the Administrative Group of employees has been underway for over two years and has yielded the results as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A "; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Administrative Group compensation study in depth and has determined that it should be implemented similarly to the compensation studies for the other employee groups by adopting the salary schedule set forth in the attached Exhibit "B" and the salary plan set forth in the attached Exhibit "C "; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. As of January 1, 1990, the salary schedule for Management, Administrative, Technical, and Confidential Clerical Personnel shall be as set forth in the attached Exhibit "B ". Positions within this group shall be placed into the schedule and shall be compensated in accordance with the attached Exhibit "C ". This shall constitute phase one of a two year implementation plan. -1- Section 2. As of January 1, 1991, the salary schedule set forth in the attached Exhibit "B" shall be increased three percent. This increase shall constitute the second and final phase of the two year implementation plan. Section 3. All of the salaries set forth in Exhibit "C" shall be paid in bi- weekly installments, in accordance with procedures established by the City of Port Angeles, and shall be paid within five (5) working days after the date of the payroll period, or as soon thereafter as the established accounting procedures will permit. Section 4. Section 1 of Ordinance 2577 is hereby repealed. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 17th day of April , 1990.
