HomeMy WebLinkAbout2697ORDINANCE NO. 2697 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, requiring surety bonds for certain officers and employees of the City of Port Angeles, amending Section 1 of Ordinance 1017, and amending Section 2.44.020 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES HEREBY ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 1017 and Section x.44.020 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: 2.44.020 Bond Requirements. The following City officers .nd employees shall provide bonds in the principal amounts set forth in this Section, conditioned for the faithful performance of heir duties and proper account of all funds coming into their ands: A. City Attorney $ 1,000 50,000 B. City Clerk $ 1,000 25,000 C. Chief of Police $ 1,000 25,000 D. City Policc Judge Manager $ 1,000 25,000 E. City Engineer $ 1,000 25,000 F. City Treasurer $10,000 25,000 C. Dcputy Trcasurer3 (each) $ 1,000 G. Finance Director $50,000 H. Accountant $25,000 I. Senior Cashier $25,000 Such bonds shall run in favor of the City and be executed by a fidelity or surety company authorized to transact such business within the State. The form shall be approved by the City Attorney and be satisfactory to any proper Department of the State supervising the same. The premium charged for such bonds shall be paid by the City. Section 2 - Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance, or the application of the 1• rovision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3 - Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of said Council held on the July , 1992.
