HomeMy WebLinkAbout2954ORDINANCE NO. 2954 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, making clarification amendments to Sections 17.08 and 17.94 of the Zoning Code, Ordinance 1709, as amended, and Title 17 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code, with regard to hedges. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. s hereby amended as follows: 17.08.045 - "H" A. . I 1: 1, 6 ,, creating a visual screen An individual tree cannot be a hedge by itself. AB. Height - total distance in feet from average ground elevation at perimeter walls to top of sign or structure, except that television antennae, roof mounted mechanical equipment, and other appurtenances are exempt from height requirements. Home Occupation - is an occupation or business activity which results in a product or service, is conducted in whole or in part in the dwelling unit, and is clearly incidental and subordinate to the residential use of the property. Hospital - an institution specializing in giving clinical, temporary and emergency services of a medical or surgical nature to human patients and licensed by Washington State Law. Hospital, Mental - (Including treatment of alcoholics) - an institution licensed by Washington State Agencies under provisions of law to offer facilities, care, and treatment for cases of mental and nervous disorders and alcoholics. (Ord. 2652 §1 (part), 9/27/91; Ord. 1709 §1 (part), 12/22/70) Section 2 Section 17.94.40 is hereby amended to read as follows. 17 94 140 Walls, Fences, Shrubs; Hedges In all Residential and Commercial Zones a wall, fence, bin Lib or hedge may be maintained to a maximum height of six (6) feet within the building setback areas . ... • . . .. All vision clearance requirements shall be maintained. (Ord. 2861 §1 (part), 3/17/95; Ord. 2668 §10 (part), 1/17/92; Ord. 2238 §15, 1/3/83; Ord. 1709 §1 (part), 12/22/70) Section 3 If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance should be held to b invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance. Section 4 This Ordinance shall take effect five days after the date of publication. Ordinance No. 2955 This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles amends Ordinance No. 2952 and establishes a pay plan for the employees represented by IAFF Local #656 for the period of January 1, 1997 through December 31, 1998, and provides for the payment thereof. The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be mailed upon request. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These Ordinances shall take effect five days after the date of publication of these summaries. Publish: March 23, 1997 Becky J.
