HomeMy WebLinkAbout3252• • ORDINANCE NO. 3252 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, adopting a power of initiative and referendum for the registered voters of the City. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, passed Resolution No. 7 -06 on March 21, 2006, stating its intent to adopt the powers of initiative and referendum for the registered voters of the City as provided in RCW Chapter 35A.11, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. A new Chapter 1.14 entitled "Initiative and Referendum" is hereby added to the Port Angeles Municipal Code to read as follows: Section 1.14.010 Power of Initiative and Referendum Adopted The City of Port Angeles hereby adopts the powers of initiative and referendum for the registered voters of the City as provided pursuant to RCW 35A.11.080 through 35A.11.100 as those sections now exist or may be amended from time to time, and said sections are hereby incorporated in full by this reference. Such powers are to be exercised as provided in the above reference sections of the Revised Code of Washington and consistent with Washington state law. Section 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect five days following the date of its publication by summary. Ordinance No. 3253 This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, amends a portion of the Zoning Code, Title 17, of the Port Angeles Municipal Code. The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be mailed upon request.
