HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 01/17/1961 ~ - e . Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Ange~as Planning Commission January 17, 1961. Members present were Driscoll, Hunt, Hankins and Strange. Also present was City Engineer John Warder and Mr. John Goneis and Mr. Andrew Caris. Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved. First order of business was consideration of proposed improvement of Second Street from Peabody Street to Chase Street. All members of the Planning Commission having met at the proposed improvement site on Thursday, January 12th to familiarize themselves with the project, therefor the Commission was thoroughly acquainted with the problem. All angles of the proposed improvement were discussed,with Mr. Goneis and Mr. Caris joining in the discussion. It was finally decided, with Mr. Goneis agreeing, that Second Street from Peabody to Chase Streets be included in the pending LID and that it be improved by surface grading, including curbs, gutters and paving the same as the balance of the district and that a gradient be adopted that will best serve the abutting property. A motion was unanimously passed recommending the above to the City Council. ~ Chairman reported to the members of 9th and Chambers Streets were from second class to first class area. that property owners in the vicinity desirous of changing their zoning status residence. A study will be made of the A discussion relating to the proposed improvements north of 1st street from Vine Street east was held. It was pointed out certain sections of curbing along front street had not been installed, leaving the street in an unfinished state. It was the unanimous opinion of the Planning Commission that these sections of curb and gutter be installed with the proposed improvement.
