Present: Hunt, Driscoll, Dilling, Treat, Anderson, McHone, Building Inspector Willson. Absent: Hankins Meeting was opened at 7:30 P.M. were approved as received. Minutes of the previous meeting Old Business Chairman Hunt inquired if any further information had been received pertinent to the R.H.Scanlan's request of January 7, 1969. The secretary advised him that nothing clarifying the ownership situation had been received yet. The request was again tabled. New Business Vannausdle's Hardware at 914 South Eunice Street had re- quested a variance to permit them to replace the sign at their place of business. The existing sign is 2' x 41, the new one is to be 3' x 6', illuminated but not intermittent or flashing. This area, being zoned RS-7, limits signs to one square foot. After a brief discussion, it was voted to recommend the request be approved. City Sign Co., Tacoma, Washington had requested a variance which would permit them to erect a 10' x 20' signboard in a Residential Buffer zone, on the northwest corner of Front and Francis Streets. Signs in this zone are limited to 16 square feet. After a brief discussion, it was voted to recommend approval of this request. Other Business An inquiry from Jim Smith concerning the operation of a ceramic studio at lOll~ West 11th was received. The location is in an RS-7 zone. The secretary was directed to inform Mr. Smith he should make an application for a variance. No further business was presented and the meeting adjourned at 8:.0 P.M. A study session on zoning ordinance revisions was held following the regular meeting. I have nothing to report on the ownership problem at present. New Business - . Vannausdle's Hardware - variance requested (after sign was erected) to replace a 2' x 4' sign with a )1 x 51 sign, Illuminated. RS-7 zone. City Sign Company - variance requested to erect an 81 x 20' sign on the northwest corner of Front and Francis Streets. The area is in an RB zone, which limits the maximum sized sign to sixteen square teet. e Other Business - A study session might be considered on the zoning ordinance revision. Otherwise,I know of nothing ase to be presented at this meeting. Council Action - City Council has not met since the last Planning Commission meeting, therefore no action taken on items from that meeting.
