Also present was Bity Engineer John Warder. First order of business was a continuation of the discussion on the problem of off-street parking. A letter from Mr. Arnold Levy was read in which he asked the t the City consider the sale or two 1/2 lots on the north side of Front StreetlM. being the East l/2 of L-4 and the West 1/2 of Lot-3, BlOCk 1. Since the receipt of his letter, the chairman discussed this matter with Mr. Levy and learned that he and his associates were plann~ng on the developement of off-street parking and were interested in either purchase of the property or a long time lease. After discussion on the matter, the chairman was asked to contact Mr. Levy and ascertain the improvements they had in mind in the event they were able to secure the property. Under new business. a letter from the DelGuzzi Construction, Inc. was read in which they applied for permission to construct'" a fireproof roof. seven feet wide across the alley from the new construction at Aggie's Motel, to the office in the present building. The request was for a clearance of twelve feet. After much diSCUSSion, it was unanimously passed that the Commission recommend to the City Council the application be approved. providing that the clearance comply with State Highway Standards of a clearance of thirteen feet six inches. The request of the Church of God located at 5th and Race Streets for a depressed curb on Race Street rrom 5th street to the alley between 5th and 6th streets was considered. Members voiced disapproval with jhe request, but the matter was tabled until all members could survey the location and other members not present could be advised of the request.
