HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 04/18/1961 II"" Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Angeles Planning Commission April l8th, 1961. ~ Members present were Anderson, Reiners, Hunt, Driscoll, Hankins and Strange. Also present was City Engineer John Warder. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. - ,e First order of business was a report by the chairman on the MCDonald Funeral H~me application for zoning change. Report was Mrs Vera McDonald had decided to not make application for var~~nca and would try to work out improvements contemplated to conform to present zoning regulations. Application of Woodlawn Investment Co. and others, owner of Grandtview Heights at 14th and "Nit Streets asking for variance from zoning on property to permit installation of mobile homes was read. Hearing date on application was set for next regular meeting May l6th. Chairman was instructed to notify Mr. Daggs, building inspector, to post the prope rty. 1-- Petition of Mrs McHenry and others for change of zoning classifaction from 2nd class residence to 1st class residence was considered. Area of 9th and Washington Streets. Matter was tabled tempararily to be included at a late~date with other contemplated changes in the zoning ordinance. The Commission noted with approval the work of the City in preparing the area between the City Jail and City Light Dept. Garage for off- street parking and further noted the extensive use already underway in the use of this area by the public. A verbal request by Mr. Carl Larsen at 305 East 12th Street for a variance from z~ning to permit the construction of a two story garage with living quarters overhead was disap.rooved. Chairman was instructed to so notify Mr. Larsen. A request from Mr. M. G. Pool of the County Planning division for permission to meet with our Commission and explain the proposed plan in which they would like the City to participate was discussed. It was suggested Mr. Pool be invited to appear at our next regular meeting May 16th. It appears this would not delay matters as no monies were set up in this years budget for that purpose. It was suggested that as soon as proposed changes in the zoning ordinance could be worked out, that a new series of zoning pamphlets be printed as we are out of same at present.
