Members present were McGee, Reiners, Driscoll, Anderson & Strange. Also present was City Engineer John Warder. First order of business was further consideration of the application of Mrs. Violet Hurlong for the vacation of alley 3 & 4, Peabody & Vine Streets. Also certain portions of Vine Street alley 3 & 4 to Alley 4-5. Mrs Hurlong being present submitted preliminary sketches showing proposed use of area for landscaping etc. in conjunction with contemplated construction of a motel at 4th and Peabody Streets. After questioning Mrs. Hurlong on her proposed improvements she was advised commission would take action later on in the meeting. It was therefor unanimously passed that the application be indefinitely tabled. -- Next order of business was consideration of a request by Mr. Ed.N. A first class residential area. Mr. Fitzgerald and Mr. Arnold Leby were present and offered explanation of the proposed construction, stating that in their judgment the proposed structure would be a credit to the area and would advance rather than retard values. After a lengthy discussion, Mr. Fitzgerald ~greed to have a preliminary sketch drawn showing the proposed appearance of the structure in order that the Commission would have a better idea of the problem. The matter was then tabled for further consideration.
