A regular meeting of the PlanDing Commission was held at the City Hall at Front & Oak Streets. Members present were Stewart, Reiners, Lamoureux and Strange. Also present were City Engineer Ahlvers and City Manager G. S. Vergeer. There being nothing of major import to come before the group, the meeting was given over to general discussion of various matters. It was agreed th~ the Chairman make up a request for the usual annual budget amounting to $300 and submit same to the City Manager. The matter of Mr. Gonies request for consideration of a culvert to carry Peabody Creek at Second and Lincoln Streets was discussed and ordered left on the table for further investigation. The temporary plat of the subdivision of suburban Blocks 98 and 99 as submitted by K. O. Erickson was discussed and the Chairman was directed to inform Mr. Erickson that the Planning Commission suggests the subdivision conform to the usual layout of lots and blocks with the rest of the City. A resolution was passed suggesting the Chairman write a letter to Mr. Ivor Smith thanking him for his cooperation with the Planning Commission during his term of office as a member and assuring him of the continued cooperation of the Planning Commission with the new Council- manager formof government. The impending ~plications of Mr. Joe Janish, Mrs. Antonia Pslzin and Owens Brothers for street and alley vacation in various parts of the C~ty were discussed and it was agreed that the Cownission would investigate them as a committee of the whole when the applications were received. Mr. Vergeer spoke briefly to the members of the Commission outlining his views on the importance of Planning Commissions and their relation to Ctty Govern~ent.
