HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 07/18/1961 ~ . . - Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Angeles Planning Commission July 18th, 1961. Members present were Hunt, McGee, Hankins, Driscoll, Reiners and Strange. Also presebb was City Engineer John Warder. Minutes of the last regular meeting and also special meeting of July 10th. 1961 were read and approved. First order of business was the consideration of a request from Public Hospital District # 2 (Olympic Memorial Hossital) for a change in curb alignment (during construction under LID #l 0) to allow for angl.-off street parking of automobiles in front of their property. Mr. Rogers, , administrator of the hospital, was present at the meeting and explained in detail the problem with which they are faced in taking care of their increased out patient load as well as visitors automobiles. Mr. Rogers submitted a sketch showing their proposal and after a lengthy discussion a motion was unanimously passed recommending the approval of the request. A petition asking for the vacation of the alley in Block 36, Fogerty & Dolans Addition was read and placed on file for future consideration. Petition to establish a zoning classification of first class residence in the area from 12th Street south to the Boulevard and from the brink of Tumwater Gulch to near nC" Street was read and ordered filed to be discussed at a later date when amendments to the zoning ordinance are being considered. Next order of business was a discussion of a request to the City Council from the Library Board for an addition to the present Library on the east side or rear of the building. The reaction of the membe~s was not too favorable to the request and it was finally agreed that we invite the members of the Library Board and other interested parties to our next regular meeting ~or an open discussion of their problems in order that we m~ght arrive at some solution.
