Members present were Anderson, Oil ling, Hunt and Stranqe also pre:;ent was Building Inspector Robert Willson. Minutes of the previous meeting weve read and approved. First order of business was reconsideration of the application of the Pilgrim Holiness Church for a variance from the zoning regulations that would permit building closer to two streets in the vicinity of Lopez and Eunice Streets. The members of the Commission feel further study should be given this problem and again deterred action. The application of Charles R. Gallacci for permission to construct a carport with a holdback of 24 feet instead of 25 feet on a lot at Park Avenue and Laurel Strpet was next con- sidered, the members feel the proposal would not create any problem and recommend to the City Council the application be approved. . The applIcation of the OelGuzzi Construction Company for permission to construct an additional duplpx residential unit on property now occupied by a single family residential unit on the south 70 feet by 100 feet of Lots 10 and 11 Block 54 at 3rd and Laurel, which is zon~d as First Business~ After dis- cussion a motion was passed recommending to the City Council the application be approved, provided the connection to the present building he a common wall and that oft-street parking be provided with one space per unit. Next hearing was on the application of ~alt Reyes for a variance that would permit the construction of multiple occupancy units for College student housing in a First Residen- tial zone. The property involves Lots 18,19, 20 Block I High- land View Acre tracts, located on the north side of Grant Aveg and adjacent to Bonneville substation. With provision thHt adequate off-street parking be provided with which Mr. Reyes agreed, a motion was passed recommending to the City Council the application be approved. . Last hearing up for consideratIon was the application of Lowell K. Jaeger for permission to construct a single family residence on a lot of less than 7000 square feet in a First Class Residence Zone known as the Apple Lane area. The discrep- ancy in lot size which is approximately 63~0 sq.ft. is mainly brought about by a meets and bounds dlscription in an area where there is an actual shortage of property. There were no protests on file on this applIcation, but Mro Reed the adiacent property owner ,'eing present stated he was not protesting the application unless the proposed structure would be of such height that it would obscure the view from his property, an examination of the plans convinced Mr. Reed this was not the case. He therefore withdrew any protest. Chairaan read a letter trom Captain L. F. Hyde, requesting vacation of a portion ot Peabody Street at Front and Peabody, it was filed for future study.
