An applica~ion of Mr. Fred Linton of 313 East 11th Street to obtain permissiQ to add five feet on the front of his house was received and discussad : and inasmuch as this would make Mr. Linton's residence out of line with the prevailing hold-back in that block, it was unanimously agreed that the application be denied. A problem proposed by Mr. Lloyd McGlenn thru Mr. Roy Chapman whereby hous~s on two lots on West 12th Street was discussed and Mr. Chapman was advised that if it is Mr. McGlann's intention to create a duplex on one of these lots, it will be necessary for him to observe the rules governing First ! Class residential districts, on the other hand if the two seperate buildings: are to be single family units, the Planning Commission would have no object- ; ion to his making an extension on a present building nearer the property line than the usual seven foot hold-back for side yard. ~. The petition for the vacation of Alder Street in the vicinity of 4th Street was read and retered to a committee composed of Hankins, McGee and Drisco~l. A petition tor the pavin of the aIle between 9th and 10th and Lincoln and Chase Streets was read and it was decided by the ommission the inasmuch as this alley is in an area that should be included in an LID probably for work in 195?, that the people be advised to wait until the large' LID was formed. In any event, it is the opinion of the Commission that the expense of forming an LID for an alley one block long would be too expensive and the matter should be paid for on a cash basis. An application for a zoning variance from Mr. Don Sleeper on the East one- half of Lot-I? and all of Lot-18, Block 387 was read and a hearing on the petition was set for September 18th next.
