The property is the former HanDee Food Shop on the southeast corner of Boulevard and Peabody Street. Mr. Piercy has an opportunity to rent this building to the Bureau of Public Roads for use as an engineers field office during the construction of the Hurricane Ridge Parkway. No objections had been registered and after a short discussion with Mr. Piercy and among themselves, the members moved that the variance requested be recommended for approval for the duration of the Park- way project; passed. 2. Variance requested by Mr. Raymond P. Maupin and Lillian C. Maupin which would permit the installation of a mobile home on their property identified as Lot 8 and the east half of Lot 9, Block 1 Evans Subdivision. This property is located at 1932 West 6th Street. At present the property contains a single family residence and a garage. In a discussion with Mr. Maupin, who was present, it was brought out that the mobile home would be situated on the back of the property. His sister has been recently widowed and is a small frail woman, hard of hearing and unable to remain alone at her pre- sent location on West Sequim Bay Road. After considerable discussion about the degree of hardship involved in this particular request, it was moved the variance be recommended for approval, conditional to applying for renewal each year; also that the variance be granted for this particular individual and vehicle only, at this location. In the event that this situation changes, the mobile home is to be removed within 30 days. Recommendation approved 4 to 1. 3.
