Members present were Reiners, McGee, Anderson, Hunt, Driscoll and Strange. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Application of McDonald Funeral Home asking for a zoning change from 2nd class residence to 1st class business on Lots 16-l7 of Block 70 was read. After discussion, the matter was tabled and the chairman was instructed to invite Mrs McDonald or a representative to the.ne~t meeting to explain their contemplated improvements. An ipplication of Mr. Lyman at Il07 Caroline Street for a variance on land use ~o allow construction of a building approximately 20' X 20' on the alley for the purpose of conducting an electrical appliance repair shop was read, discussed and refered to a committee of Reiners and Driscoll for a report at the next meeting. For the information of the commission, the chairman reported than an application for the vacation of I~lt Street at the Bluff between 4th and 5th streets would probably be made i~ the near future by Francis Jarnigan. A general discussion on proposed culvert at Front and White's Creek and the opening of the roadway to Highway IOI East was held. The entire commission is of the same opinion that Front Street is the most practical to be impyoved to better service the greatest number of people.
