th i s are a .
The request of Anthony R. ~algano for a variance to utilize
a travel trailer as living quarters in an RB-7 zone had been
referred back to the Planning Commission by the City Council. This
request had been recommended for denial at the Sept. 28 meeting.
One of the members reported a conversation with Dr. Galgano in which
he indicated he expected to make other arrangements in 3 or 4 months
and this request would be a temporary expedient. Following a brief
discussion the members voted to recommend approval of the application
for a period of six months.

Mr. J. D. ~~yers had requested a variance to permit alterations
to a pre-existing, non-conforming service station in an RS-7 zone.
The site involved is the Texaco Station on the southwest corner of 9th

of the station and erect a canopy over the present pump island.
Members found no objections to the request and voted to recommend
approval.
Mr. Robert Bowen had requested a variance to permit him to
enlarge his existing single family residence at 1202 East 3rd. The
problem arises due to the platting of the lots in this particular
~ubdivision. The area which would normally be considered sideyard
is technically a rear yard and requires a twenty-five foot setback.

Other Business
Mr. James Doyl~, ~f Alpin~ ~uilder5, was in to inquire abo~
the setback requirements for a corner lot in the RS-7 zone, under
the newly amended zoning ordinance. He was advised the 25 foot
set back on the side street ,had been reduced to 13 feet. Mr. Doyle
asked if it would then be permissible to enlarge an existing 5ingle-
family residence with more than the 13 foot set-back but less than
the 25. It was explained that while the amendments had been
approved, the necessary ordinance had not yet been passed, so the
25 foot requirement was still official. Members voted to recommend
the Building Inspector be authorized to grant Mr. Doyle a building
permit recognizing the thirteen foot setback requirement.
A short discussion took place among the members relative to
various areas that have been mentioned as possibly being proposed
for rezoning to RMF. The Secretary reported that to date, only
two applications have been received, but that two others have been
discussed with different parties inquiring about re-zoning procedures.
No further business was presented and the meeting adiourned at
8 :40 P. M.
