HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 11/21/1961 ~ Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Angeles Planning Comm~sion November 21, 1961. . Members present were Hunt, Anderson, Driscoll and Strange. Also present was City Engineer John Warder and Fire Chier Kenneth Cameron. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Under unfinished business, Chairman reported that the application of Mr. E. N. Fitzgerald for permission to construct an apartment house at Park Avenue and Laurel Street had been withdrawn. Chairman reported that the committee appointed to study zoning ordinance with object in view of making suggested improvements, have asked for more time and that the matter be held in abeyance until the department heads involved would have more time to give to the study. An application of Mr. Gerald Accola for the vacation of a portion of the alley in Block 390, East of Pine Street and between l3th and 14th streets was read and placed on file for future study. - An application of Mr. Amil J. Monpas for permission to construct a four unit apartment house at t he corner of Fo~erty and Laurel Streets was read and placed on rile for future study. A letter from Mr. C. K. ~laze, state Planning Engineer, reporting on inventory of urban planning by the state of Washington us it pertains to the Port Ange~ s urban area, year 1961, was read, contents duly noted and placed on file. Members of the Commission expressed their satisfaction and appreciation at the recognition given the City by the State. Fire Chief Cameron expressed a desire to meet with the Planning Commission when the proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance are being considered in order that the Fire Department may make 80nE suggested changes they have in mind. Mr. Cameron was informed that the Fire Department would be given an opportunity to do 80. After a general discussion on various matters, meeting adjourned at 9:00P.M.
