The church presently ownes Lots 8-9-10 on the north side of the alley and 11 & 12 on the south side with arrangements already made for lot-l3 which will make them owners of the abutting property on the proposed vacation. A survey was made of the attitude of the people owning property and living down in the gulch abutting on the easterly end of this alley. They offer no objection to the application for vacation. After a lengthy discussion and study of this matter, with special emphases on the need for the availability of a north-south street on the westerly margin of Whitets Creek Gulch, most points of which deemed it inadvisable to comply with the request, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that this application be denied. There was general discussion and further consideration relative to the off-street parking problem in the business area, but inasmuch as the Commission had not yet received a reply from the Department of Planning of the State of ~ashington Highway Dept., the matter is further layed on the table until the next meeting. No further business appearing, meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M. Respectfully submitted, 1::1 ~ Je,.. ) .1 / .. ~ cc M. W. Slankard John Warder H. E. Dodge ... ....
