No Quorum ' Due to lack of quorum, no motion was made to approve the September 2012 minutes. Waterftynt Transportation Mwrovement Proiect(WTIP) Update/West-End Park VVoot reported that all pounha have been issued for the Waterfront project, including the /\nny Corps permit. Construction ofphase | commenced oil Monday October D, 2Ol2 and the construction company Primo has nnudo progress on tbo deconstruction which will likely continue for the next few weeks. The Port /\nQe|ea Downtown Association and City staff worked cfDoicn1|y to ensure all ad and City � infrastructure pieces had been removed from the project ado. Railroad Avenue has been temporarily reopened bc\vvcon I.uoro/ and Oak streets to accommodate Crabfeot during the upcoming weekend. VVoot � � emphasized the importance of supporting impacted businesses through mignugeond window displays. It was suggested businesses along Railroad Avenue bo listed and thanked for their cooperation. � West requested input from the Committee uuhosting ag7oundbceaking event. & suggestion was made to � coordinate the event with the 30% West End Park presentation to City Council scheduled for November 6, 2012. To meet the Peninsula Daily News' deadlines, a tentative groundbreaking event was yoggoa\od for 10:00 unn on November 5, 2012. There was expressed concern about this date interfering with anticipated press coverage of the upcoming elections. Mayor Kidd ccnpbaaiscd the inopoduuoe of having the P& Forward present ot tile event. Frustration with the /\nny Corps of Engineers permitting process on this and other City projects was > expressed. Additionally,the subcommittee is moving forward with the time capsule and Kidd encouraged anyone who has anything io contribute to contact her. Bergner suggested contact homade with local artists for miniatures of local art work. Kidd also reported that Westport Shipyard has volunteered tu make u custom wood cover for the capsule. That meeting will happen in the next few days. Topics for Discussion in 2012 West 10, 2012, which included: |. A"do nothing"option which would maintain the Park in its current condition. 2. A"rernove as needed"option to remove trees as needed and reassess as needed. 3. A "remove and replace" option to remove all current and future tree obstructions and replace with low-canopy trees. Alburg suggested there could be an option between 2 and 3 to help mitigate some of the public concern and help community support.
