CALL TO ORDER: ^� Vice-Chair Downie opened the meeting at 7:30 a.m. Be noted Chair Kidd was in Olympia for the /\WC Conference with City Manager McKoen and LouuoilnnernhcrBruub. Bicycle Tourism/Ref,,ional Bicycle Interest Group—Discussion Bergner summarized the agenda for the subcommittee nuee\ioA later today. He euggemted the subcommittee create u list ofactivities or assets that attract cyclists for PA Forward to consider. Weed noted bmp/ C|o||arn Transit is looking into grants related to providing transportation for cyclists through areas with gaps in the trail system. A good example is the area around portions of Lake Crescent. Downie noted bop/ Victoria is very bicycle-oriented and is o market\o renncrnhor. West noted the work of the Peninsula Trails Coalition oil the entire trail system and how the Chamber has supported many bicycle ovuo<a. Construction over the next few weeks will be the most impacting on area businesses with three projects (CS0, WT{P and Black Ball dock) going on a1 the same drnu. He encouraged members to attend the City Council meetings on February l9 and March 5. Edwards has been in contact with Derek Long, Executive Director for Sustainable Connections, k/ provide a speaker/consultant for a session in Port Angeles. The half-day session will begin at noon on February 25, 2013, in the Vern Burton meeting rooms. The Choose-Local committee and interested nnenuhero of PA Forward are encouraged to attend. Event will begin at Noon and uhoz lunch will he provided. Mr. Long will give his presentation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 pm. The Cruise |ioo has added atbidecmdb stop to the schedule. First stop will hcin April and will continue through the murnnuer and into October. Collins suggested adding the topic of Rising Utility Costs and the effects on business development. Kdvvurda noted how in the past some of the agenda topics were determined as u coau|t of u community survey. He suggested consideration of conducting another survey to serve as another driver for the committee. There was no motion or endorsement by consensus to add either topic to the agenda.
