The first meeting of the committee will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2011, in Washington, Q.C., in conjunction with the NLC Congressional City Conference. NLC's policy committees help to identify priority issues within their subject area, specify a work agenda for NLC's steering committees, and finalize policy recommendations for consideration bythe Resolutions Committee and for delegates at the Annual Business Session during the fall Congress of Cities. Policy committees meet twice a year, at the Congressional City Conference(March 12-16, 2011, Washington DC) and at the Congress of Cities (November 8-12, 2011, Phoenix,Arizona). Appointments were made with the understanding that committee members would attend both of the scheduled policy committee meetings. AWC recognizes that in these tough economic times this may not be possible and hopes that you would commit to attending at least one of the two meetings or resign the position if you are not able to attend. If you have any questions about the above-mentioned NLC Policy Committee or the Congressional City Conference, please contact Teri A. Perrine of AWC at terip @awcng1,.QM or(360) 753-4137 or toll-free 1-800-562- 8981. AWC appreciates your interest in serving on a NLC policy committee and I look forward to seeing you March 12- 16 at the NLC Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C. Sincerely, OU40J4 Kathy Turner Mayor, City of Puyallup AWC President kt/ta p
