I On behalf of the City of Port Angeles, we want to offer our sincere appreciation for the assistance that.
( you provided our community in gett ing Hurricane Ridge Road open throughout the winter months this
i year.
As you likely know, our coznznunity was abbe to raise a tof al of$75,000 to Help support this effort.
This funding was provided by a variety of sources including local companies, individual supporters;
city and county governments, and our chamber of commerce. This broad based support illustrates the
irnportanec of keeping this road open so that both our residents and visitors can enjoy the assortnaent
of winter recreational activities that Hurricane Ridge has to offer.
During the next month we plan on launching a marketing program to promote the fact that the road
will be open throughout the winter months. We also plan on measuring the impact of this opening in

terms of the additional visitor traffic generated and the impact on our local ecozaonly. We will share
this information with your office next year with the hope that we can show that this road needs to be
open throughout the winter on a permanent basis.

this winter to see the results of your assistance to our commuluty.
