ID R C F , 1,V 4 Port of Port Angeles Tactics A Nnq1ee;"- cijkj At the February 1511 meeting concerning: Lincoln Park a woman tapped my shoulder from behind, she whispered "is it too late for the trees. My boyfriend said it was. He saw it in the paper. But I saw a flyer that saidl, Come share your love for the Trees tonight" We reassured her it is not to late. How many other people that desired to speak in favor of preserving the trees did not come because the Port released their four options for the park February 14th, none of which keep any of the trees? This is a prime example of the many tactics used by Port to thwart public input that are simply unfair. Other examples of misdirection includle; At the City Council meeting November 2nd City Manager Kent Myers announced there would be a Public Hearing on the Lincoln Park Master Plan November 30th and they would be soliciting Public Comments. Two days before the November 30t' 'Open House' the Peninsula Daily News said the meeting was for input on the park if the trees were gone. That sounds like any comments for saving the trees could technically be discarded. After the meeting the PDN titled their article Lincoln Park Meet draws Crowd - input on future, of trees solicited. Untrue, no input on saving trees was wanted. The solution is to start the process over with a neutral entity. There is HOPE! Please call or write City Council to preserve our Historical Heritage Trees.
