HomeMy WebLinkAboutDennis Toepke wi EP 5 September 2014 CITY OF 1--) r ANGELES Port Angeles Traffic Department CITY C__( Port Angeles City Council Fairchild Airport Director This letter concerns the intersection of W Lauridsen / Airport Road / Edgewood Drive 4 months ago a log storage yard was established on the Airport, along Airport road. At that time diamond shaped signs were placed along Lauridsed, stating "trucks entering and leaving the road" these signs have done little to slow traffic thru the intersection. On days that a log ship is being loaded Lauridsen Blvd between the intersection and the Tumwater truck route, become like a raceway for log trucks, most of the way right next to Lincoln Park. z do not believe W Lauridsen is a designated truck route. In the next several weeks the Log de-barking facility will be running and loaded log trucks will be arriving and leaving that facility. Log trucks will be crossing or turning at the intersection and will be heavy, long, and slow. Traffic coming from the West on Edgewood has limited site distance coming to that intersection. This intersection should become a 4 way stop, and Lauridsen Blvd speed limit should be reduced from 35mph to 25mph especially past Lincoln ParK. Please make a change to this intersection before accidents happen, not after. Thank You, y 4 De e _, E----' 1818 W Lauridsen Blvd #11 Port Angeles, Washington 98363 360-580-3038
