,rO THE EDC BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
Our first meeting of 2015 will be held on January 15. Our Annual Member Dinner will be on the evening
of January 30.As you know, we are in the midst of a major fundraising effort which, with a few
exceptions, has been initially aimed at our current membership base.The early response from our Public
Sector supporters has been wonderful and we are truly grateful.The early returns from our Private
Sector supporters have been outstanding—for which we are also grateful. But a drive to gain new
members of the EDC has not occurred for many years.
Today, as we kick off what we hope will be a year of high achievement,we ask that each board member
seek to recruit at least two new EDC members from the County's business community. From our current
board of 28 this effort should lead to an expansion of membership by over one hundred.That growth
could place your EDC team well on track to get a base of Private support which balances that from the
Public Sector.
All we ask is for a warm introduction. We will be happy to communicate with whomever you introduce
and will provide them with a Membership form and a record of current activity.We know you serve on
our board because of your very high interest in the economic growth of Clallam County.You understand
the challenges we face and our need for a bigger and more effective team.And you have placed your
own money on the line to make it happen.
So please help with our recruiting effort. We would appreciate all your introductions before the January
meeting, if possible.And if space remains available we will invite your recruits to the January 30 Dinner
and a night of"Recognition"that you will truly enjoy.
