The foundation system for this mobile home will consist of typleal2 feet wide cenerate runners at each end:and at approximately 8' o.c. running perpendicular to the long dimension of the mobile home. On top of these runners a 6" deep reinforced concrete slab will be placed. This slab will be constructed to the actual dimensions of the mobile home. To allow Installation of this foundation system that following procedure shall be followed: 1. At each Transverse strip footings loeatlon, the fill shall be removed for a width of 2 feet to match the width of proposed concrete strip footing. Once the fill' material has been removed the excavation shall be backfilled with C.D.F. (controlled density fill). At completion of the subgrade excavation this office shall inspect to verify that the C.D.F. backfill will be placed on native solis prior to placement of the C.D.F. backfill 2. The two feet wide concrete strip footings shall be placed on the C.D.F. The reinforcing of these strip footings shall be as required by others for the mobile home foundation. . . 3. Once the strip footings have been placed, a 6" thick concrete slab shall be placed to match the foot print of the mobile home. This slab shall have two #4 reinforcing bars running longitudinal at the mating line of the mobile home. These reinforcing bars shall be set 12 inches apart. The remainder of the slab shall have a reinforcing grid of #4 reinforcing bars at 16" o.c.e.W. There shall also be a #4 reinforcing bar around the entire perimeter of the slab approximately 3~ in from the edge of the slab. All splices In reinforcing shall be a minimum of 24". This floating slab will provide adequate support of the perimeter block foundation and any bearing points at the mating line of the home. This slab will be placed approximately 12 Inches below the surrounding grade to provide for a pit set for the mobile home. A continuous footing is required around the perimeter of the load bearing walls, although some manufactured homes are designed to accommodate a garage. The garage must be designed as though it is independent from the manufactured home. Sill and bottom plate anchor requirements for seismic zone D2. As per the 2003 IRC. Garages detached and attached to a manufactured homes, require standard wall bracing methods to be met, If they cannot be met, then refer to "Alternate Braced wall panel" Section of the 2003 IRC. If any of the aforementioned methods cannot be met, engineering design will be required for the "SHEAR WALL, ALTERNATE BRACED WALL PANEL" design under 2'-8" in width.
