WAYNE GROFF RE SEWER HOOK-UP I arnved on SIte at approXImately 1.30 Upon amval I notIced a metal structure about 3 5 feet m dIameter WhICh was level wIth the surface of the ground and full of sewer water It appeared to be a failed septIc tank. The contractor had a dItch 7 5 feet deep and 3 feet WIde that exposed the mam. The dItch was dug at the pomt that had been located by a City crew that accordmg to the map should have been an eXIstmg wye. There was not a wye at thIS locatIOn. I mstructed the contractor that Ifhe was tofnter the dItch agam, he would eIther have to put shonng m or relIeve the SIdes of the dItch at a one to one startmg,four feet up from the bottom of the dItch. He agreed to relIeve the SIdes. Upon relIevmg the east SIde of the dItch, a slIce of matenal fell off exposmg an eXIstmg 6" concrete pIpe about 3' east of the dItch SIde The pIpe headed m the general dIrectIOn of the reSIdence at 4217 FamTIount Ave. Not knowmg the mtegnty of the 6" concrete pIpe, I mstructed t~~~tractor to tap the mam sewer lIne and connect the new 6" PVC lIne to the saddle He~o and backfilled the hole about half way WIth pea gravel then filled and compacted the remamder of the hole WIth crushed rock. ~ /L~ WA~F INSPECTOR CITY OF PORT ANGELES BUILDING PERMIT INSPECTION RECORD CALL 417-4815 FOR BUILDING INSPECTIONS.
