MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is voluntarily made and entered into this ~ 8 1 '"' day of /1 ARC /I , 2006, by and between the Senior Citizens Center Guiding Committee ("Seniors"), a non-profit corporation and the City of Port Angeles ("City"), a Washington municipal Corporation. 1. PURPOSE: The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to set forth, in general, the roles of the parties with regard to the maintenance and operation of real property known as the Senior Center and the programs and services to citizens. This is intended as a statement of understanding and does not create contractual obligations. 2. ROLES: The parties acknowledge and consent to the following: 2.1 The Seniors shall provide the following: a. Educational & Intellectual Development Programs - Includes computer, art, and other programs as available. b. SociallRecreational Programs - Includes billiards, bingo, bridge, crafts, and similar programs as available. c. Fitness/Wellness Programs - These programs provide opportunities to understand and develop patterns of healthy living. Includes exercise classes, support groups, and similar programs as available. d. Special Events - Programs and activities such as parties, p.oliday celebrations, current issue presentations, and other events throughout the year. e. Trips - Provide opportunities for excursions and travel experiences. f. Lounge - Provide effective and efficient management. g. Volunteers - Recruit, train, and monitor volunteers in all areas of the senior program. h. Van-Responsible for van cleanliness. Seniors have priority use of the van. 1. Cashiering - Receipt funds in accordance with City guidelines and remit to the City all funds c{}llected for building rentals and memberships. 2.2 The City shall provide the following: a. Personnel - Manage the Senior Services and Community Center and be the liaison to the P ASC. b. Building Maintenance & Repair - Includes daily janitorial service, exterior landscaping and grounds maintenance. c. Program Support - Provide connection for power and Internet support for the computer lab, newsletter publishing and printing. d. Facility Rental Management - Provide support in all aspects of room rental management that includes, providing current rental forms, rates, and janitorial support. e. Membership Management - Provide a computer to maintain the database for membership to be used for appropriate mailings, such as membership reminders, newsletters, and trips. Van - The city maintains the van and provides comprehensive liability insuranGe for the van, the drivers, & the passengers. The van is jointly owned by the City and the Seniors. 3. TERMINATION. This understanding may be terminated by either party if: 3.1 any party fails to fully comply with the scope of obligations as specified above within thirty (30) days of receiving written notice of their alleged failure, or 3.2 either party serves.the other within ninety (90) days written notice of their intent to terminate.
