All provisions of laws and ordinances governing this type of work will be complied with whether specified herein or not The granting of a permit does not presume to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any state or local law regulating construction or the performanc nstruction. ~ 5/2- October 21, 1996 Mr and Mrs Randy Smith 1407 S "0" Street Port Angeles, WA 98363 RE Non-Standard Driveway Construction Dear Mr and Mrs Smith The asphalt driveway that you have constructed does not meet City Standards As discussed with each of you on separate occasions at City Hall, the City Standard for all driveways in the street right of way is a six inch concrete driveway as shown on the standard plan that was provided to each of you prior to the non standard construction Mrs Smith did contact me the day that paving was underway regarding a deviation from the concrete standard. In the discussion I stated that a temporary deviation from the concrete standard could be granted if a letter was provided stating that the asphalt driveway will be replaced with a standard concrete driveway The letter should also contain a reasonable time frame for the replacement. The only portion that will need to be replaced with a standard concrete driveway is that section within eight feet of the curb The area beyond eight feet may remain asphalt.
