Dear Mr. Zamberlin: In coordination with Nation Sign Corp.Dibble Engineers,Inc. (DEI)has reviewed the proposed sign calculations performed by National Sign Corporation in order to verify design loads and for the site specific conditions. In coordination with City of Port Angles,the proposed structure is reviewed for 100mph basic wind speed and exposure C,a seismic design category D1,and snow load of 25psf. In our review two 12"steel square tube posts,HSS 12xl2x5/16,approximately 35 feet above the grade level and 8'-6"embedded in the concrete footing,are used as the main structural support for the proposed sign. The size of the proposed footing should be 4 ft wide x 5 ft long x 8.5 ft deep. Based on DEI calculations,HSS 12x12x5/16 tube steel columns are sufficient for the applied loads. The proposed footing size should per our detail SK-1 in order to provide adequate vertical and overturning resistance. Please see attached footing detail with the supplemental calculations. The signage frame;lighting,and box components at the top of the sign are by the sign manufacturer. Please contact us with any questions or clarifications. ' Dear Mr Zamberlin In coordination with Nation Sign Corp Dibble Engineers,Inc (DEI)has reviewed the proposed sign calculations performed by National Sign Corporation in order to verify design loads and for the site specific conditions. In coordination with City of Port Angles,the proposed structure is reviewed for 100mph basic wind speed and exposure C, a seismic design category D1 and snow load of 25psf. In our review two 12"steel square tube posts,HSS 12xl2x5/16, approximately 35 feet above the grade level and 8 -6"embedded in the concrete footing, are used as the main structural support for the proposed ' sign. The size of the proposed footing should be 4 ft wide x 5 ft long x 8.5 ft deep Based on DEI calculations,HSS 12xl2x5/16 tube steel columns are sufficient for the applied loads. The ' proposed footing size should per our detail SK 1 in order to provide adequate vertical and overturning resistance. ' Please see attached footing detail with the supplemental calculations.
