The following comments are based on the 1997 edition of the Uniform Fire Code. This list is not a

1. Sprinkler protection must be extended into all newly enclosed areas. These areas would
include under mezzanines, in the clean prep rooms and in the consumables area. Please
provide sprinkler plans for review.
2. The plans do not specify the type of materials to be used for the wall covering over the
consumables area. At one time, plastic sheeting was discussed~ If this material is used, it
must have a flame spread rating of less than 76.
3. The permit application contains a brief project description that includes mention of
improvements to the dust collection system. The plans submitted do not include any
reference to improvements to the dust collection system.
