CITY OF DATE: October 12, 2015 TO: PARKS, RECREATION, & BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION FROM: COREY DELIKAT, PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR SUBJECT: 4TH & D STREET VIEW POINT Summary: John Longsworth of Port Angeles is looking to turn one of the City’s right-of-ways into a viewpoint at 4 & D. On Thursday September 17, 2015, Mr. Longsworth submitted a proposal for the project, which focused on goals, maintenance, and neighborhood participation. The Commission tabled the discussion until the October 15, 2015 meeting. Recommendation: Discuss and Vote whether or not to have Director Delikat pursue the idea of have a viewpoint located off 4th & D. Background/Analysis: John Longsworth of Port Angeles is looking to turn one of the City’s right-of-ways into a viewpoint at 4 & D. On Thursday September 17, 2015, Mr. Longsworth submitted a proposal for the project, which focused on goals, maintenance, and neighborhood participation. I brought this forth as a late item to the September Parks Commission meeting for discussion to see if the Commission wanted me to pursue this request further. A motion was put on the table by Commissioner Pittis to table the discussion until the October 15, 2015 meeting so they could visit the site and further review the proposal by Mr. Longsworth.
