HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.20.21 MinutesPage 1 of 1 PORT ANGELES PARKS, RECREATION & BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION MEETING Port Angeles, Washington May 20, 2021 CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING: Secretary Straits called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. ROLL CALL: Members Present: Student Representative Folsom; Commissioners Collins, Cripe, Forrest, Harp, Hodgson, McGuire. Members Absent: Commissioners Milburn. Staff Present: Director Delikat, Senior Center Manager Bright, Project Coordinator Tucker & Secretary Straits. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chairperson Collins moved to approve the April 15, 2021 minutes. Commissioner Forrest seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. LATE ITEMS: None. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. FINANCE & PACKET ITEMS: Director Delikat reviewed the current Revenues and Expenditures Report. LEGISLATION: None. GUEST SPEAKERS: Project Coordinator Tim Tucker discussed his new role within the Parks & Recreation Department. Additionally, he provided the Commissioners with an update on the status of Adult Recreation Leagues. DIRECTOR’S REPORT: 1. Departmental Updates a) Small Wins: Director Delikat discussed recent departmental happenings (“small wins”), including: the Big Spruce Cleanup and Planting Party events, installation of the City Pier floats and temporary sidewalk fencing, Diamond Dust infield dirt at Lincoln Park ballfields, progress on the ADA-complaint entrance and safety fence at Civic Field, the anticipated 2021 Lefties’ season, mowing at City parks, and the reopening of the Port Angeles Senior Center on June 1st, 2021. b) Capital Facilities Projects: Director Delikat provided the Commission with an update on the Generation II Dream Playground and Tree Mitigation Plan, the Erickson Playfield Pump Track and Volunteer Field turf projects.
