Port Angeles, WA 98362 June 28, 2021 Sean Coleman Lincoln Park BMX Track 1900 W Lauridsen Blvd Port Angeles, WA 98363 Re: Letter of Support for the USA BMX 2022 National Event in Port Angeles, WA Dear Mr. Coleman, As Mayor of Port Angeles, Washington, I am pleased to support the Lincoln Park BMX Track's pursuit of a national competition. Over the last three years, the Lincoln Park BMX Track Association has played a significant role in recreation for the community and has built a facility that is one of the best in Washington State. This facility has held many state and regional BMX competitions, and it would certainly be exciting for our City to host a national Northwest Gold Cup Championship, 3-day series. Port Angeles is a biking destination. Hosting this event would further build this reputation. Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula is continually working to deepen our services for biking, including encouraging bike races throughout the area. We are fortunate to live in an amazing community with many outdoor recreation opportunities for our residents and visitors to enjoy. The City of Port Angeles is committed to supporting activities and a lifestyle that promotes health and well-being for youth and adults. This event will provide a positive economic impact to our downtown businesses and community. The City has shown its support in the past for the Lincoln Park BMX Track Park. Improvements to adjoining Lincoln Park have been a collaborative effort by the City of Port Angeles and the BMX Track. On (date)the City Council approved the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee recommended allocation for the BMX Track in the amount of$6,700 for 2021. The City of Port Angeles recognizes the value in hosting events that highlight all that our community has to offer. The Northwest Gold Cup Championship is a perfect fit for a community of our size and for the quality of our facilities. I completely support the efforts to bring a national BMX competition to Port Angeles. Sincerely, JfDOGUSiggnned by: a LCXLC409_.. Mayor
