CCIM Daniel E. Gase Date: 9/3/2008 2 23 PM Subject: Re demo permit question CC: Linda Pangrle Dan, Roofing materials would not need asbestos testing. If the structure has lead paint on it yes that needs to have the testing, which Tracy will take care of Tracy can state on the application that there was no asbestos noted. Trenia 'Daniel E. Gase, CCIM' Daniel .Gase(alColdwellBanker.com> 9/3/2008 2.15 PM Hello Trenia, I currently have an application for a building permit for a new garage going with the City Additionally and actually first in line, is a demo permit for the existing wood frame garage that I plan to replace. The downstairs folks tell me that I will have to request a letter from you indicating that the demolished structure can be delivered to the City land fill. In that effort I have Tracy at Zenovic's office doing the testing for the lead based paint and that report should be in shortly The topic of asbestos was also brought up. My question is.am I required to have an asbestos inspector (I believe he is from Port Townsend) come over to verify that there is no asbestos? The reason I ask is because the garage components include a rather new roof, a concrete slab floor, single pane windows, exposed wood frame construction, wood siding and a metal garage door There is no insulation, no plumbing, no sheetrock. I'm not really sure what they would 'test' and I would love to save a few hundred dollars if at all possible. Any thoughts or feedback? Thanks for your help. Dan Daniel E.
