A strap with an uplift capacity of not less than 1000 pounds (4448 N) shall fasten the header to the bearing studs. The bearing studs shall also have a tie -down device fas- tened to the foundation with an uplift capacity of not less than 1000 pounds (4448 N). The tie -down devices shall be an embedded strap type, in stalled in accordance wi1..h the manufacturer s recommenda tions.
