For the plenum protection, the nozzle must be. two to four inches from the face of the filter and mid length of the filter 3 The fire extinguishing system shall be interconnected to the fuel or current supply or cooking equipment. The interconnection shall automatically shut -off all cooking equipment and electrical receptacles located under the hood. Shut -off valves or switches shall require a manual operation to be reset. 4 A sodium or potassium bicarbonate extinguisher with a minimum 40BC rating shall be installed near the exit door Filter height not to exceed 20 inches. NOZZLE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS This section gives guidelines for nozzle type, positioning, and quantity for plenum duct, and individual appliance protection This section must be completed before determining tank quan- tity and piping requirements.
