If he wants to side it he needs 6' between it and the house and he only has 3' if he wants to attach it needs to be 7' from property line and it's only 3' Although strict Code says there needs to be 6' between the house and the detached structure, that 6' is for egress, which it has plenty of without siding, so without siding, the 3' is ok.
