Proposed site work consists of a new sidewalk access ramp and stairs, a new paved driveway to access a 2 car garage on the lower level, and connection to existing utilities. Stormwater from the building will be directed to Oak Street with a curb outlet. Stormwater from the driveway and lower level landscaping will be infiltrated. The drainage plan has been prepared to comply with the requirements of the City of Port Angeles. The lower level of the building and surrounding parking lots has historically been subject to infrequent flooding due to their low elevation. At periods of high tide and heavy stormwater runoff,.localized flooding may occur. The proposed drainage systems for the reconstruction of this building does not alter or alleviate this. STORM DRAINAGE CALCULATIONS The drainage plan estimates post development runoff using the Rational Method for a 30 minute storm of 50 year recurrence interval. An infiltration trench was sized to store and infiltrate the runoff from the lower level driveway and landscaping. Investigation on the site indicates that the soils consist of 2 to 3 feet of sand fill over silt. A conservative assumption of an infiltration rate of 2.0 in./hr. was used to design the infiltration trench,with a factor of safety of 4.
