PLAN CHECK FEE IF a plan check fee is due it must be submitted at the time the building permit application and construction plans are submitted. All other permit fees are due at the time of permit issuance. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW If no permit is issued within 180 days of the date of application, the application will expire. 'Date: 9 1 d I ENOVC ASSOCIATES w INCORPORATED January 5 2004 Dear Mr Collins Fc: JN 03386 JAN 5 2004 CITY OF PORT ANGELES Dept. of C -ui y Diliefoprnent Mr Brad Collins Director City of Port Angeles Department of Community Development 321 East Fifth Street Port Angeles, WA 98362 FILE SUBJECT Port Angeles Food Bank 402 South Valley Street, Port Angeles As requested this office performed a structural inspection of the building noted above to access the damage caused by the trees falling on the roof of the structure The inspection found that there was substantial damage to the second steel frame from the south endwall of the building The damage included bowing the vertical portion of the frame and a severe bend in the bottom chord of the roof frame member with damage to the web of the frame Although there appears to be some racking at the center connection point of the two frame halves it appears that only the west half of the frame is severely damaged and will require replacement. It is recommended that a new west half of the damaged frame be fabricated in an approved fabrication shop to match the existing undamaged frames in the building There was also damage to the roof purlins and wall girts in the same area. The eave purlin and the next two rows of purlins (at approximately 5 -foot on center) are damaged and will require replacement.
