ADEQUATE LIMITED SEVERELY LIMITED This septic system consists of a 1000 gallon, two- compartment septic tank, a distribution -box and two 65ft long by 3ft wide drainfield trenches. The septic tank appears to be in good condition and both baffles are in place. The tank is equipped with risers and has just been pumped -out (01/17/08). The d -box also appears to be in good condition and has just been equipped with a nser and flow levelers. The d -box has also been pumped -out and cleaned. The drainfield area looks OK, there are no signs of ground saturation or surfacing effluent. I dug several holes in the drainfield trench exposing the drain -rock. Trench #1 (the upper trench) was dry and the drain -rock was clean. Trench #2 (the lower trench) was ponded and the drain -rock was covered with a thick biomat. It's obvious that trench #2 has been receiving all of the wastewater flow I have adjusted the flow levelers within the d -box to shut off the flow to trench #2 to allow that trench time to dry out (this may take several years). Trench #1 will now receive all of the flow Although the system is functioning properly water conservation practices within the home should be implemented to reduce the amount of wastewater generated. The septic tank appc:ar-s to be in good condition and both baffles an: in place. Tbe tank is equipped with ri:sers and bas just been pumped-out (01/17/08). The d-box also appears to be in good condition and has just been equipped with a riser and flow levelotrs. The d-hox has also been pumped-out and cleaned. The drainfidd area looks OK; there are no signs of ground saturation or surf4Cing effluent. I dug several holes in the drainfield trench exposing the drain-rock. Trench #1 (the upper trench) was dry and the drain~rock was clean. Trench #2 (the lower trench) was ponded and the: drain-rock. was coven.::d with a thick hiomat. It's obvious that trench #2 has been receiving all of the wastewater flow. 1 have adjusted the flow levelers within the d-box to shut off the flow to trench #2 to allow that trench time to dry out (this may take: .1everal years). Trench #1 will now re:ceive all of the now. Although the system is functioning properly water couservation practices within the home should be implemented to reduce the amount of wastewater generated.
