Kane Environmental is requesting a Right of Way Use Permit to install eight
monitoring wells The proposed monitoring well locations are shown on the
attached figure The exact location of the monitoring wells will determined
by field observations and the location of buried utilities
There are four wells (KMW 5 through 8) that are proposed for installation on
South Lincoln Street. There is one monitoring well (KMW -4) proposed for
installation on 8th Street. Two monitoring wells (KMW 9 and 10) are
proposed for installation on 7th Street. Lastly one monitoring will be
advanced in the alley between 7th and 8th (KMW 11) as shown on the figure
Kane Environmental has retained WorkZone Corporation of Puyallup Washington
to complete a traffic control plan to provide flaggers for traffic
management and to erect all necessary signs and placards Once they have
completed the traffic control plan it will be forwarded to you
Please let me the fee associated with the Permit and I'll have our
accountant send a check in the mail

Hi Trenia,
I hope you had a nice holiday back to work so soon I have included with
this email a copy of the TCP for the project. The answers to the questions
from the engineer are below
1) The wells will be installed to determine the off -site impacts to
groundwater if any from the historic gas station located at 722 S
Lincoln St.
2 Unknown at this time This will depend on the client entering the
Ecology VCP program If they do we will adhere to Ecology guidelines
3 Unknown at this time The wells will most likely be abandoned once
monitoring activities if any are completed following Ecology guidelines
4) We will be installing 3/4 inch pre -pack monitoring wells with a direct
push drilling rig
5) I have included a monitoring well schematic with this email Based on
past drilling in the area the monitoring wells will be advanced to 15 -20
feet below ground surface dependent on the water table
6 The monitoring well locations will be based on the location of buried
underground utilities and obstructions I will call the utility
notification service and have them mark all utilities I will then inspect
the markings prior to any work and make a determination of the well
locations They are tentatively set to be advanced in the pavement.

Hello,
We have decided to go with heavy duty monitoring well cases. These are the
same ones used at airports. They weight 40 pounds each, so I'm confident
they'll meet or exceed your requirements.
The subcontractor will be contacting Trenia to submit our documentation
regarding bonding the City of Port Angeles for the project.
