The permitted drawing call for (5/8") five /eights inches diameter rods to be drilled and epoxy into the existing concrete foundation a minimum (4 four inches in two locations. I observed the drilling and cleaning of these holes and we had over (4 four inches of embedment. I also observed the epoxy and rods being place into these holes -as per the manufactures requirements and the drawings. On May 29 Hoch Construction had me come back to the site and review the post at the hold down located at the west side of the exterior door on the north of the addition. The drawings call for a Simpson HDU2- SDS2.5 hold down be place just west of this door and be bolted to a (3 three inch post. The existing post is made up of two 2x6 studs with one of them being interrupted with the door header. I directed the Contractor to provide blocking at the face of the header to be flush with the face of the studs and install a Simpson strap to extend a minimum (12 twelve inches above and below the header. W/ 54143 PERFORMANCE When used in the KITCHEN KNIGHT II Restaurant Fire Suppression System or KITCHEN ONE K -Class Fire Extinguishers, Pyro -Chem Wet Chemical is extremely effective on fires in restaurant ventilating equipment (hoods and ductwork), as well as in a variety of cooking appliances (deep -fat fryers, griddles, range tops, and several types of broilers and char broilers). Suitable operating temperature is 32 °F to 120 °F(0 °Cto 49 °C). As the agent is sprayed in fine droplets (atomized) onto an appliance grease fire, it provides excellent flame knock -down, surface- cooling, and fire securing capabilities. When the agent reacts with the hot grease it forms a layer of foam on the surface of the fat. This soap like blanket of foam acts as an insulator between the hot grease and the atmosphere helping to prevent flammable vapors from escaping and reducing the chance for flame reignition. Post -fire cleanup can be readily accomplished by flushing the area with water or steam.
