Our. City Policy requires electrical utihties to be mstalled m alleys for standard Lot/Block plats and smce this alley will be eventually opened as it is developed, the electncal facilities will be installed accordingly Please refer to attached drawmg. d cost for installation of underground electrical facihties to Lots A and B is labor and material provided by the City This estimate, based on the n you provided, is good for 180 days. After 180 days or if there are any design changes, the estimate will be reviewed and revised accordingly New lme extensions are required to be underground unless the cost of underground is more than twice the cost of overhead. The estimated cost for overhead installation is $3,037 00 which is more than one half of the underground cost, therefore, underground pnmary power is the required installation. Lee The City will be responsible for the following items: 1 Providing and installing the underground user on the existing pole at the 14/15 alley on I Street. 2. Providing and mstallmg conduit, vault and cable. 3 Providing and mstalhng the padmount transformer and two (2) pedestals. 4 Removing the existing pole mount transformer and connectmg the two existing services to a pedestal. Note: a riser cannot be installed on the same pole as a transformer) You will be responsible for the followmg: 1 Surveymg and staking of the alley adjacent to Lot B 2. Brmgmg alley and area for the padmount transformer to final grade. 3 All season, all hour alley to and including the transformer location per Public Works specifications. 4 Providing the trench 47 inches deep from the final grade, 24 inches wide rmmmuni, approximately 100 feet in length. The trench must meet requirements of WAC Chapter 296 -155N, Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring All excavated material shall be placed no closer than two (2) feet from the edge of the excavation and any excavation over four (4) feet in depth will require shormg. 5 Excavation for the 44 mch by 32 mch by 36 inch concrete vault with 6 inches of gravel leveled in the bottom of the excavation. 6. Coordination with Qwest Communications, Wave Broadband, and Capacity Provisioning, Inc. for the installation of their facilities. They may share the trench with the electrical facilities. 7 Installation and future maintenance of the underground service wires m conduit from the pedestal to the meter bases. The connection fee is $713 00 per meter 8 Permit to dig in the alley right -of -way 9 Grantmg an easement on Lot B for the location of the transformer and the secondary service to Lot A. Please sign, notarize and return the attached easement form. 10 Payment of the estimated amount of $4,393 00 Payment slip attached. 11 The completion of the above items, receipt of payment and an authonzmg signature below will allow the City to schedule the mstallation. Construction may begm m five to six weeks after completion of the above items. This time is required by Engmeermg to complete the work order and for Operations to schedule construction. If the cost of construction exceeds the paid estimate, there will be no further billing. If the cost is less than the estimate, the difference will be refunded. page 3, D. Our City pohcy for line extensions requires new installations to be underground unless the cost of underground is more than twice the cost of overhead. The estimated cost for overhead facihties is $8,073.34 which is more than one half the underground cost, therefore, underground power is the required mstallation. A new Connection Fee Policy has been established and became effective January 1, 2005 (see attached letter) The connection fee of $713 00 for each house /meter connected to underground facilities will be collected with the purchase of each electrical permit. Brmging the alley and north lot comers to final grade for the installation of the electncal facihties. 3 All season, all weather alley 4 Providing the trench 47 inches deep from final grade, 24 mches wide minimum, approxnnately 450 feet m length. The trench must meet the requirements of WAC Chapter 296 -155N, Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring All excavated material shall be placed no closer than two (2) feet from the edge of the excavation and any excavation over four (4) feet m depth will require shoring. Four alley crossings 30mches from final grade. 5 Excavation for three 44 mch by 32 mch by 36 mch concrete vaults with 6 inches of gravel leveled m the bottom of the excavation. 6 Coordmation with Qwest Commumcation, Wave Broadband, and Capacity Provisioning, Inc. for the mstallation of their facihties They may share the trench with the electncal facihties. 7 Installation and future maintenance of the underground service wires in conduit from the pedestals to the meter bases for each house. 8 Pemnt to dig in the alley right -of -way 9 Grantmg easements for the location of the transformers and pedestals.
