The rate for space used during the year shall be reduced or increased to the appropriate level based on advertiser's performance and the advertiser shall pay or receive a credit for the difference. The rate charged for advertising during the life of this contract will be at the' inch level listed on our current rate card and is subject to revision at any time with a 30 -day notice to the advertiser. Should there be a rate revision during the advertising agreement, the advertiser has the option of cancelling or re- signing another agreement without penalty. Statements are generated at the end of each billing period following service. When the account is paid in full by the 15th of the month following publication, has approved credit, and there is no unpaid balance, a discount may, be earned on all space charges except preprinted insert charges. The Peninsula Daily News is set in a 6- column format, classified pages are in 9- column format. Ads are measured by the column inch and billed to the closest half inch. Ads over 19 inches in length are charged full column depth. Minimum charge for any ad is one inch. Ads must be as many inches deep as they are columns wide. 2. ERROR RESPONSIBILITY. Errors are the responsibility of the advertiser if proof is shown. The liability of the Peninsula Daily News shall be limited to the cost of space occupied by the item or items in error if the Peninsula Daily News fails to make corrections noted on proof. 3. PROOFS. The ad department will travel proofs for ads of more than 12 inches in size. Ads of less than 12 inches may be checked at the Peninsula Daily News. 4. EXCESSIVE CHANGES. Excessive changes from original layout and copy after ads have been set other than typographical errors, carry extra composition charges at the rate of $25 per hour. 5. 100 PER CENT ADVERTISING SECTIONS. Must be at least two standard or four tabloid pages. Reservations for such sections must be made in advance. Complete layout, copy and artwork must be at the Peninsula Daily News one week in advance of publication. Full page tabloid size ads will be billed at five columns by 13 inches, or 65 column inches. 6. BUSINESS SUSPENSION. During any period of time the advertiser's establishment is closed because of fire, flood, strike or any act of God, space requirements shall be waived for the period business is suspended. 7. CONDITIONS. The advertiser assumes liability for the content of all advertisements that he authorizes for publication, and any claims that arise therefrom that may be made against the publisher. It is expressly agreed that in the event direct taxation on advertising shall be imposed during the life of this contract by the State of Washington or the United States of America, or both of them, or by any other political subdivision, that the amount of such tax shall be paid by the advertiser, unless overwise specifically provided in the law or laws imposing such tax. 8. PAYMENT. Accounts for advertising shall be due on the first of the month following insertion and payable by the 15th of each month upon presentation of invoices covering advertising actually published. One and one half per cent per month may be charged on accounts over 30 days past due. 9. POSITION. The rates on this card are for run-of -paper position. Requests for special positions will be given every consideration. 10. COPYRIGHT. The Peninsula Daily News is a copyrighted newspaper. Any ads or advertising materials built by the newspaper are the property of the newspaper. 11. The Peninsula Daily News reserves the right to refuse any advertising.
