Detail of Handrail Extensions at exterior stairs and ramp: The handrail details were added to the project by addendum during the bidding process. We apologize for not providing this information to you at the same time. The handrail detail for the new concrete stairs on the south side of the building is attached with this letter. We have tried to match the existing handrail on the south side of the building for the two new stairs. The concrete ramp on the south side of the building will be at grade and therefore, no handrail will be required. The existing railings at the east stair on the north side of the building will be relocated and used on the new stair replacement. There are steel tube rails at the top of the framed wall and a center grip rail which has the 12" extensions at the top and bottom. The new concrete stair on the west end of the north side will re- use the existing steel railing which also has the 12" extension at the bottom. The new elevated ramp on the north side will have the 12 extensions of the railing at the top and bottom of the runs as shown in the attached sketches which were part of the addendum. The railing system will be the "STAR" rail system which will have a separate grip rail attached to the inside face of the railing and only the grip rail portion will extend the 12 2. New Exit Door from the Sanctuary to the Fellowship Hall: Attached with this letter is a detail showing the new door which will be equipped with a closer and exit device as requested by the Fire Marshal. The hardware schedule for the new door is listed on the drawing. 3. Make -up Air in the Kitchen: The make -up air unit is located on the roof of the kitchen as shown on sheet M -2.3 in the "Partial Roof Mechanical Plan" located ate the lower right hand corner of the sheet. Exhaust Hood over the Dishwasher in the Kitchen: The hood is shown on Sheet M -2.2, in the drawing "1 Floor Mechanical Plan" and is labeled as Vapour Hood 42.1. This hood is also shown on sheet M -3.3 in the "Kitchen Air Flow Diagram" along with the make -up air unit. The details for the hood are found on sheet M- 4.1, in the table "Exhaust Hood Schedule" listed as 42.1, Vapour Hood. We are hopeful this information will be sufficient to address your questions and issue the permit.
