The permitted process includes the remodel of an existing residential structure'housing two disproportionate living spaces under one utility service. Conditional Use Permit CUP08-03 was approved August 29, 2008 allowing an accessory residential unit. The CUP is subject to two conditions; Separate electrical meters for each unit and separate addressing for each dwelling unit Provide at least two off street parking spaces for each unit Since my last extension, August 2010 I have made progress on the project and expect to be completed within a year's time. In December of 2010, thejenants of the small unit in the building moved out and it was decided to replace the concrete shower with a new tile shower. A separate building permit 11- 00000043 was secured 1/12/11 with construction completed, approved and signed off on 5/6/11 by Jim Lierly. During the construction of the shower at W 5 tenants moved out of our other rental at W 7 and left a mess. Complete interior painting and floor covering needed to be performed. On May 25, 2011 my mother passed away unexpectedly resulting in additional time away from the project. The permitted process includes the remodel of an existing residential structure housing two disproportionate living spaces under one utility service. Conditional Use Permit CUP08 -03 was approved August 29, 2008 allowing an accessory residential unit. The. CUP is subject to two conditions; Separate electrical meters for each unit and separate addressing for each dwelling unit. Provide at least two off street parking spaces for each unit. The remodel required interior wall coverings and exterior wall tear off and some framing modification. The line item on the building permit "Walls, roof, ceiling" was approved by inspection and sign -off received 2/13/09. In regard to the electrical permit, rough -in was approved by inspection and sign -off received to cover on 2/19/09. During this time the rough -in plumbing, second meter installation and waterline to the dwelling unit was accomplished. Spring time 2009 was spent hanging sheetrock. Summer and early fall was spent on the exterior installing siding, window replacement and painting. During the winter time 2009/2020 the sheetrock was taped, mudded and textured. Interior painting was performed during the spring. All these tasks have been performed basically by me with contractors used for the electrical, plumbing and driveway concrete pour. I work a full time 40 hours a week job so that leaves weekends and the occasional day off. This summer has primarily been spent building a 100 ft plus retaining wall at our residence and getting the grounds ready for company for our son's wedding. Looking back at this point in time, I do acknowledge that I have missed calling for some inspections and will commit to being better at calling for inspections every six months. I guess I have been wrapped up in the process and forgotten my obligation for inspections.
