CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> Port Angeles, Washington <br /> September 3, 2019 <br /> CALL TO ORDER SPECIAL MEETING <br /> Mayor Bruch called the special meeting of the Port Angeles City Council to order at 5:02 p.m. <br /> Members Present: Mayor Bruch, Deputy Mayor Dexter, Council Members French, Merideth (arrived at 5:10 p.m.), <br /> Moran and Schromen-Wawrin. <br /> Members Absent: Council Member Kidd <br /> Staff Present: City Manager West, Attorney Bloor, Clerk Martinez-Bailey, S. Carrizosa, T. Hunter, K. Dubuc, B. <br /> Smith,and A. Brekke. <br /> Mayor Bruch introduced Clallam Economic Development Corporation CEO,Colleen McAleer who spoke about the <br /> Think Tank agenda item,Rural Procurement. She provided a brief background on the topic and spoke about ideas to <br /> boost local contract procurement and the benefits of keeping local companies competitive with outside sources. <br /> Mayor Bruch asked that a discussion on Council agenda late items be added to the next Council Think Tank agenda. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Mayor Bruch adjourned the Special Meeting at 5:47 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER-REGULAR MEETING <br /> I Mayor Bruch called the regular meeting of the Port Angeles City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor Bruch, Deputy Mayor Dexter, Councilmembers French, Kidd, Merideth, Moran, and <br /> Schromen-Wawrin. <br /> Members Absent: None <br /> Staff Present: City Manager West,Attorney Bloor,Clerk Martinez-Bailey,A. Bright,K.Dubuc,B.Smith,T.Hunter, <br /> A. Brekke,and S. Carrizosa. <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Mayor Bruch led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Ili Marolee Smith,city resident,spoke in opposition of the Charter of Compassion. <br /> Arlene Jensen, spoke of her involvement on local committees and boards and spoke about the need for Council to <br /> make bold changes including voting in favor of the Charter of Compassion. <br /> Marilyn Eash,city resident,spoke in favor of the Charter of Compassion. <br /> Susan Hillgren,residing outside city limits, spoke about a number of needs from the homeless community including <br /> garbage cans,portapotties and cell phone charging stations. <br /> Hillary Powers,spoke in favor of the Charter of Compassion. <br /> ^' Bill Atkinson,city resident,spoke about the parking agenda item. <br />
